At HyperSec, we prioritise ease of use, extensibility and resilience at scale. Our platform is designed to support mission critical systems, allowing organisations to seamlessly analyse data in real-time and respond to threats rapidly.
Established in 2017 by Derek Thoms, Chief Technology Officer, and Damien Curtain, Chief Security Officer, Hypersec was born out of a need for a scalable and flexible platform that could gather and analyse event data without being confined to proprietary formats. With an experienced team that have extensive backgrounds in financial, national security, defence, federal government, and telco, our founders set out to enable organisations to respond to security events with speed and confidence in our rapidly changing landscape.

2024
As HyperSec continued to broaden its impact, we relaunched our flagship products—XDR and HyperCollector—under new names that better represent their expanded analytics capabilities. Recognising that our insights extend beyond security use cases, HyperSec leveraged the power of HyperCollector to provide comprehensive data analytics. This evolution aligns with our vision to empower enterprises through secure environments and actionable, data-driven insights.
Over the preceding 5 years HyperSec has witnessed a CAGR of 50% in revenues which reflects an increase in both the number and longevity of our customer relationships – accordingly we are eagerly reinvesting that revenue in our products to deliver stronger customer outcomes and further differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.
HyperSec welcomed Stephen Savage as the Chief Operations Officer. With over 25 years’ experience in senior executive roles across the Commercial and Public Sector, Stephen brings a wealth of expertise to our team. His appointment is a strategic move to enhance our operational efficiency and expand our market presence across the APAC region. Working closely with the company’s founders, Stephen’s extensive experience and leadership skills will be invaluable as we continue to scale our operations, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

With the launch of HyperCollector 2.0 and XDR 2.0, we achieved new milestones, and in particular provided support to ASX 20 companies including a large TELCO. This generation of products, designed with enterprise-level scalability and precision, empowered clients with enhanced analytics and security resilience, tailored for complex environments and high-demand networks.
These formative years saw rapid growth in our engineering team, partner network, and customer base, reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement and our clients’ increasing trust. During this period, we broadened the scope of our offerings with enhanced integrations, automated features, and the introduction of VM-style appliances. This customer-centric, top-down approach helped position HyperSec as a leading force in scalable enterprise security solutions.

By building for high-efficiency and scale from the ground up, we distinguished ourselves from smaller, agent- based solutions, setting the stage for a fully enterprise-ready product stack.
